Project 1: Beaded Keychain
How to Make a Silicone Bead Wristlet Keychain
Materials Needed:
- 15" non-elastic cord
- Silicone beads (your choice of colors & patterns from kit)
- Key ring with snap hook
- Tassel (optional/ sold separately)
- Scissors
- Pliers (sold separately)
- Loop turner (sold separately)
- Beading needle (included in kit)
- Small torch lighter
Step 1: Gather Materials & Plan Your Design
- Select your beads and arrange them in your preferred pattern.
- Use a plate or small tray to keep beads organized.
Step 2: Cut the Cord
- Cut 15 inches of non-elastic cord.
- Extra length makes stringing and tying easier.
Step 3: String the Beads
- Use the needle included in the kit, a loop turner, or burn the tip of the cord to make stringing easier.
- String the beads onto the cord, following your planned sequence.
Step 4: Attach Key Ring & Tassel
- Slide the key ring over the beads so it sits in place.
Step 5: Tie a Secure Knot
- Use a surgeon’s knot (double knot for extra security).
- Pull the knot tight to ensure it won’t loosen.
Step 6: Hide the Knot & Trim Excess Cord
- Use the needle from the kit or a loop turner to thread each end of the cord back through the beads to hide the knot.
- Trim off excess cord.
- Burn the tip of the cord with a small torch lighter to prevent fraying.
